Resplendent in their stylish coloured uniforms the zouave light infantry wereinvolved in all major battles of the American Civil War. Arguably the mostrenowned of Confederate zouave regiment being the Louisiana Tigers.
Fighting on horseback and armed with pistol, sabre and carbine, the role ofcavalry during the civil war was more as mounted infantry, reconnaissance andpatrol units rather than the shock cavalry of previous eras. Skirmishers were animportant element of armies of both sides, providing skirmish screens for mainunits and harrying enemy flanks.
This plastic set provides enough models to field a complete Confederatebrigade comprising one Zouaves regiment of 100 men, a regiment of cavalry aregiment of dismounted cavalry, and a regiment of skirmishers.
Models supplied unassembled and unpainted.
