Arguably the world's first infantry fighting vehicle, the Berliet VUDB wasnot only capable of transporting troops but allowing them to fight from withinit, with multiple weapon ports from which to fire. Designed to help policeFrance's north-African colonies in the 1930s, these remained in service at thestart of the Second World War, serving in North Africa and in France. Belgiumalso fielded the Berliet VUDB during WWII.
