Operation Overlord was in full swing, with about 160,000 men crossingthe English Channel to land on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day alone.
The M4 Sherman (105mm) assault gun combines the indirect firepower of amortar, the first shot kill of a big gun, and the armour of a tank. Thesearmoured 105mm guns have the ability to pin down enemy troops or destroy themwith deadly direct fire.
